Whenever things are going halfway (Nice, Adana Demirspor), Balotelli takes advantage of the moment and changes immediately, only to be amazed and frustrated to find out again in his next 3-4 stations that nothing works until retirement (Marseille, Brescia, Monza)
But Balotelli is the prime example that a) talent alone is not enough and b) how to screw up your international career.
When it comes to Balotelli, like most people, the first thing that comes to mind is the image of his jubilant pose in 2012 (and the hype surrounding this young talent at the time); and I’m shocked to realize that that was TEN years ago.
And since then the boy has not won anything, let alone left his “footprint” in any club. His whole best years (23-30) wasted. Too bad.
Where did things go for him at Nice? The reason why he played so well at Nice was Favre, which he himself said in many interviews, that Favre was probably his best coach.
Favre left, Plea and Seri too.. then Vieira came and the problems were inevitable because there really wasn’t that much going on in the team, especially in attack and just creating opportunities.
Then there was drama between Vieira and Mario, which is why he went to OM.
I don’t know how you can call 15 games and 8 goals in a half series with the new team “nothing works anymore”. Especially since he only had a contract with OM until the end of the season and then they might want to sit down again
He wanted to keep his options open in the summer and was then able to return to Serie A.
At Brescia he first had to serve out his red suspension and then didn’t play badly, but it was Brescia, so you could expect everything but no miracles. Tonali and Balotelli did not go alone, at times he was even captain of the team. Things didn’t really work out for Brescia, which was partly due to the team’s performance, everyone expected more.
Could then have switched to Genoa, St Etienne and co but didn’t do it and instead went to former Milan buddies Boateng, Galliani and Berlusconi.
Half a year without game practice and injuries prevented more, but 6 scorers in 12 games and thus only reached the qualification for the playoffs.
Where he unfortunately only came off the bench due to the injury problems of the weeks before and couldn’t make up for the 0:3 in the first leg.
There were again offers from France, Italy and Co. But this time he wanted to go to Turkey, and it was also clear that he wouldn’t stay here forever.
Everyone knows what Balotelli is like, and if you tell him something, then he often does the opposite.. You’ve known that for 10+ years, so it’s all the more exciting when coaches trust him and he pays it back, for example under Favre, who is anything but well-known for that is .. just letting players be who they are.
Now he’s closer to his family and home, don’t know where the problem is here now. Has absolutely nothing to blame at Adana.
