Marine Serre brings collection to the Metaverse

Marine Serre has partnered with Skinvaders, a platform for in-game branding skins and digital clothing, to digitize his “Hard Drive” collection for the Metaverse.

Skinvaders, founded by digital fashion company PlatformE, will offer the French fashion label’s collection in the virtual world of Zepeto, offering fashion-conscious gamers the opportunity to customize and upgrade their avatars. Marine Serre’s clothes will cost between 5 and 14 Zems, the currency of the virtual world.

Player investment in avatar customization, particularly in designer and luxury products, has skyrocketed in recent years and represents a major opportunity for brands to have an in-game presence,” said Skinvaders Managing Director Alexis Arragon. “It was an exciting project to work with the team at Marine Serre to bring their collections to life in the digital world while also entering an increasingly lucrative space where more than two out of three players are interested in branded skins”.

The launch comes at a time when research from Statista shows that the number of US gamers buying in-game skins, emotes, and other customizations increased by 44 percent in 2021 as gamers turn to the metaverse.
