Marimekko announced that he would open his first flagship store in Paris this fall. Even before opening your own shop, Marimekko’s products will be available at Pop Up sales outlets at two renowned Parisian stores, Le Bon Marchéen and Galeries Lafayette.

Marimekko reports that opening the flagship store in Paris has been planned for some time.

Marimekko also has flagship stores in Helsinki, Stockholm, Copenhagen, New York, Tokyo and Sydney. There are about 170 Marimekko stores worldwide.

Renowned neighborhood

Marimekko says that the Paris store will see fashion, home products, bags and accessories.

– The range of shops will focus especially on the spearhead products of each collection and the seasonal new ones. Marimekko’s collection is largely the same all over the world, but store selections are always curated to some extent according to the target market and group, says Laurila.

The new store in Paris will be opened in the Le Marais area, which is popular with both tourists and locals, where several international top brands will be neighbors.

– It is important for Marimekko to be in good business places serving his target audience. The Le Marais area is an important concentration of fashion and design, where many premium brands, for example, have their movement. There are also trendy restaurants, galleries and several museums, such as the Picasso Museum.
