Marimekko is auctioning off unique dresses for charity

Marimekko invited artists to paint three unique dress fabrics to be auctioned for charity.

In honor of today’s International Women’s Day, the Finnish design house Marimekko approached three international artists who created three unique works of art for the company’s fabrics at the Herttoniemi fabric printing plant in Helsinki. The three artists selected for the rapture are Cassi Namoda, Camilla Engström and Yoyo Nastya.

These unique and unique fabric works will be auctioned through Bukowski, the leading auction house in the Nordic countries, tonight at 9 pm. Proceeds from the auction will be donated to the women’s charity Gurls Talk, whose work is supported by the artists. The organization supports the mental health and mental well-being of minors and young women.

Cassi Namoda is a New York – based visual artist originally from Mozambique, whose works often feature dreamlike portraits. Namoda’s work depicts both everyday and special moments.

Camilla Engström is a self-taught artist living in Brooklyn with a Swedish-Chinese background. Energetic, sorbet-toned landscapes are emphasized in her art, and women’s empowerment is often at the center of the themes.

Stockholm artist Yoyo Nasty the works repeat various, imaginative characters and Animal Themes in colorful natural landscapes. Behind his humorous and playful works is a desire to create unique experiences for the audience.
