Despite the birth of her son Jip, Marieke Elsinga still plans to return to Qmusic’s morning show. She said that yesterday in RTL Boulevard.

Rumors have been circulating for some time that Marieke Elsinga will sooner or later stop the Qmusic morning show, where she works as Mattie Valk’s sidekick. The presenter stopped the program for six weeks last year because of ‘mental fatigue’ and then returned, but only for four days a week.

Cry baby or not?

Marieke is currently on maternity leave, but according to radio expert Patrick Kicken, there is a good chance that she will work even less after that or even stop. “We are already taking into account the scenario that Marieke Elsinga can be heard on the channel no more than three days a week after giving birth,” he says.

If Jip is a crying baby, then according to Patrick it could turn out even more difficult. “Let’s hope it doesn’t become a cry baby because then the days of Marieke’s radio career will be numbered.”

Marieke with Jip on TV

Marieke appeared on television for the first time with her baby Jip last night. Although she also stopped with RTL Boulevard last year, she still allowed former colleague Aran Bade to come and play an item at her home.

How does she feel? “Good. Yes, I actually feel really good. Sometimes I want a little too much. Recently I had taken a bit too long a walk and then it really felt like: pffff. I call it a heavy c*t. That you feel like your whole body is falling out through the bottom. My pelvic floor can’t handle that yet.”

‘Very excited for Q’

The big question is: will Marieke return to Qmusic or does she want to start mothering full-time for the time being? Marieke is determined to continue doing the morning show at Qmusic.

Marieke herself says: “I really feel like working again. I just really like my job. I will get back to work in February.”

Home early

In the last year and a half, Marieke has often complained in the media about the workload and that she can no longer handle it all. Does she think Q can be combined with motherhood? “It will certainly be tough, but it is also nice, because I am also home early from work. Then you can of course alternate it with the two of you.”

Finally, Marieke also says that she has larger breasts. “There are six cup sizes on top and of course I was not at the back, so that has changed.”
