Mariano Cúneo Libarona, from media lawyer to Minister of Justice

Mariano Cúneo Libarona is the dean of media lawyers in Argentina. He became famous in the ’90s for defending his clients in court, but also in the media. What today is seen as something normal and natural in any file that captures social attention, was something distinctive in those years. He was a lawyer for Guillermo Coppola, Diego Maradona’s then manager, and also for politicians such as Emir Yoma, brother-in-law of former president Carlos Menem. He was imprisoned for the AMIA cause and also had affairs with celebrities like Samantha Farjat. All this before turning 40 years old.

He is in good harmony with the Comodoro Py courts because he took his first steps in the Federal Justice in the ’80s, where he learned the legal twists and turns that can unblock a file or make it sleep an eternal sleep inside a drawer.

Already in 1999, Cúneo Libarona was a famous lawyer who became the cover of Noticias Magazine, under the title “Cúneo the bad guy”, due to the number of media and controversial cases that had him as a party.

After going through the mud of the courts as a hyper-explosive lawyer, he decided to go for bronze. In recent years he dedicated part of his time to academic life and today he tops it off as Minister of Justice. He is dean of the University of the Social Museum, from which he graduated as a lawyer in 1989.

He met Milei in the television hallways, where they both shared panels on debate programs and that relationship was validated by sharing a work environment at Corporación América. Cúneo Libarona was a lawyer for Hugo Eurnekian, Eduardo’s nephew, in the case of the notebooks and Milei, as is known, was an employee of the same group, from which it is believed, he will obtain an important part of her officials.

Cúneo Libaron was always a lawyer linked to power. In the causes in which he participated he had the eye of the Government, the intelligence services, politics and even the most powerful businessmen in the country. His fees exceeded $500,000. He doesn’t need silver, he goes for bronze.
