Marianne van Leeuwen will continue as director of the KNVB

Marianne van Leeuwen has been reappointed as director of the KNVB for a term of three years. The former chairman of the Amsterdam amateur club Zeeburgia succeeded Eric Gudde two years ago in Zeist.

The Supervisory Board of the football association states that since the arrival of Van Leeuwen, the relationship between the KNVB and the clubs in professional football has ‘improved enormously’.

Jan Dirk van der Zee will also continue for three years as director of the amateur football section at the KNVB. “There is member growth at the KNVB and there is a stable, future-oriented organization,” said Albert van Wijk, chairman of the Supervisory Board. Van der Zee has been there since 2015 and is starting his fourth and final term.

The new chairman of the football association will be appointed next spring. Three months ago, Just Spee announced that it was resigning due to health reasons. Former general manager of Telstar Pieter de Waard has indicated several times in the past that he is interested in that position.
