Seven fighter Maria Huntington will take second place in the Oulu ranking competition on Sunday. Seven matches are led by a teammate Saga Vanninen 24 points apart.

“It’s a little tense tomorrow,” Huntington said at the end of the day.

The representative of Tampereen Pyrinto did not get the best out of himself. He fell in a warm-up shoulder above the ground in May. Since then, he has been sidelined from early summer races. The hand was still in the bandage just over a month ago.

– You have to be happy that today was able to do. I haven’t been able to push a bullet in six weeks, Huntington summed up.

In his own words, the bullet was the only species in which the shoulder hindered doing. The tapes around the shoulder were strong.

– It’s frustrating. I was okay with my life, but yes I think we’ll get to that over the summer.

– I am also harsh on myself when I immediately wanted to be in top shape.

The first races of the day looked promising, as Huntington took the race wins from 100 meters real and high. At the ball and at 200 meters, Vanninen was able to achieve better results.

In real Huntington, the time was 13.22. Height 183 was exceeded by a third attempt. Renewing my own record in 186 was millimeters away.

At the ball, the result was weaker 12.45 due to the hand, but the Tampere resident considered the performance to be successful. At 200 meters, Huntington lost just a hundredth to Vaninen, who was leading the race.

The World Cup is not yet off the agenda. Because of the shoulder, the situation will have to be looked at again later. However, the ranking should be improved.

– Let’s see. We have talked about going to the World Cup. It depends on what condition the shoulder goes into after this weekend.

Circumstances are in place

In Oulu, the sun was shining from the full sky and the wind conditions were favorable, with one exception.

– In other respects, there could not have been better conditions for this. We had a really strong headwind in the curve, but whatever it was, Huntington praised.

Vanninen also agreed with the weather in Oulu.

– Yes, the conditions were really good. Got to run along and had shadows for each performance spot.

The temperature fluctuated around 25 degrees, which did not bother the race leader. The initial warm-ups did not have to be done as much in the warm.
