“Maria” and “Nadia” will hit people’s health

Residents of Central Russia are waiting for a period of prolonged snowfalls, warns leading specialist of the FOBOS Weather Center Evgeny Tishkovets. Already on Friday, January 28, Moscow will be under the influence of the North Atlantic cyclone “Maria” with its center over the Pskov region. Snow will begin, which will intensify in the second half of the day, a blizzard is expected with a deterioration in visibility up to 2 kilometers.

Up to 3 millimeters of precipitation will fall, and on Saturday the intensity of snowfall will increase, Tishkovets wrote on his Instagram. On Sunday morning, the bad weather will weaken, but in the afternoon heavy snowfalls will begin due to the approach of another cyclone – “Nadya”.

Moscow will be at the center of this cyclone on Monday, January 31. There will be even more precipitation – for the first time this winter, snowdrifts will grow to a height of half a meter.

Atmospheric pressure will drop to 727 millimeters of mercury, which can negatively affect the well-being of weather-dependent people, Tishkovets warns. On Tuesday, February 1, snowfalls will already be fleeting.

In the next five days, almost half of the monthly rainfall will fall in Moscow – about 20 millimeters. Tishkovets called the weather for the coming weekend ideal for walking and winter sports – it will not be cold, 5-6 degrees above the norm, which will remind Muscovites of the climate of the Scandinavian capitals – Stockholm and Oslo. February, according to the meteorologist, will gently take over from January, starting from a relatively warm position.
