The normal distance was convincingly won by Hanna Öberg.
The Biathlon World Cup started for the women with a 15 kilometer normal course in Kontiolahti. Mari Eder got off to a promising start, but the third shooting position eroded the higher ranking. In the end, Eder’s ranking in the goal was 17th.
In the summer, he won bronze at the World Championships in roller skiing Nastassia Kinnunen wedged right in front of Eder with one hud. His ranking was 15th.
We went to the first shooting site under the command of the Swedes. Elvira and Hanna Öberg led the crowd. Eder was in a good position in fourth place, but in the second place, Eder came second in the race with a clean game.
The Finnish skier’s chances collapsed in third place, when Eder shot three huts. It dropped him far from the top. From the last shooting position, zeros were again on the board.
Despite one penalty round, Hanna Öberg managed to ski convincingly to victory. The Swede solved every shooting position the fastest. Norway came second with a difference of 36.5 seconds Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold. He beat Italy, who came third by Lisa Vittozzi by just over three seconds.
Biathlon continues in Kontiolahti on Thursday with men’s and women’s relays.
