Marechaussee arrests woman at Schiphol with four tons of cash and man with expensive watches

The Royal Netherlands Marechaussee arrested a Chinese woman on Tuesday with 390,000 euros in her suitcase. The next day they arrested a Dutch man with expensive watches and designer clothes worth 200,000 euros.

The Chinese woman ran into the lamp during a regular customs check. When customs opened her suitcase, they found the huge pile of bills.

The Dutch man was on his way to Dubai. His suitcase had already been checked in and the man was on his way to the gate. During a customs check, they found an expensive watch in the suitcase, which was reason enough for customs to address the man. It turned out that the man had a similar watch on his wrist. Both watches have a combined value of 200,000 euros. In addition, the man also had expensive designer clothes with him.

money laundering

The two are suspected of money laundering. Neither of them could explain how they got the money and the expensive stuff.

According to the Marechaussee, these are two separate cases and the two have nothing to do with each other. Both suspects are still in custody for further investigation by a police team of the Marechaussee.
