Middlesbrough manager Michael Carrick made one change compared to the first part of the promotion qualifier.
Originally from Turku Marcus Forss now ran into Boro’s opener. The Finnish striker got into a good position at the end of the opening period, but the Coventry pack Jake Bidwell managed to cover the shot.
In the second period, the sky fell on the necks of the Boro fans when Gustavo Hamer bombed the ball into the top corner.
In the losing position, Carrick was forced to make substitutions, and he took Forss off the field in the 67th minute.
However, Coventry didn’t allow the hosts to score anymore, and took a valuable 1-0 away win with them. It continues to the final match of the promotion qualification to Wembley in London, where Luton Town awaits it.
