Should replace veteran Leiva
Lazio are set to sign their first signing of the summer: Shakhtar Donetsk’s Marcos Antônio will sign in the Eternal City in the near future. The editors of the transfer experts Gianluca Di Marzio shows the 22-year-old midfielder arriving at the airport in Rome and states a fee of up to 10 million euros – 8 million as a fixed amount and 2 million euros in possible bonuses.
Marcos Antônio joined Ukraine from Portuguese club Estoril Praia for €3.5m in February 2019 and has since featured in 101 games, alternating between the starting XI and the bench. At Lazio, the Brazilian is set to succeed his compatriot Lucas Leiva (35), who is leaving the club after five years.
For Shakhtar, the fee is the biggest transfer fee since Fred (29) was sold to Manchester United in the summer of 2018 – the “Red Devils” paid €59m.
