The Italian eyewear manufacturer Marcolin SpA continued on its growth path in the third quarter of 2022. On Friday, the company announced that group sales had reached EUR 126.1 million in the months from July to September. It thus exceeded the corresponding prior-year level by 24.3 percent.
In the first nine months of the current year, sales amounted to EUR 409.7 million, which corresponds to an increase of 21.0 percent (currency-adjusted +13.9 percent) compared to the same period of the previous year. In the EMEA region, which includes Europe, the Middle East and Africa, revenues grew by 22.2 percent to EUR 213.8 million, in America by 19.6 percent to EUR 180.2 million and in Asia by 21. 5 percent to 15.8 million euros.
The Group was also able to improve earnings: Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA), adjusted for special effects, were EUR 50.5 million and thus 20.3 percent above the comparable figure for the previous year. The bottom line was a net profit of 1.85 million euros, after the company had to post a loss of 2.27 million euros in the same period last year.
The Marcolin Group, based in Longarone in northern Italy, is one of the world’s leading eyewear manufacturers. The group owns its own brands Web Eyewear, Marcolin and Viva, and also holds the licenses for the eyewear collections of well-known fashion and shoe labels such as Tom Ford, Guess, Adidas, Bally, Moncler, Max Mara and Skechers.
