Contract ends in summer
Marco Reus will apparently sign a new contract with Borussia Dortmund this Thursday, which should be valid for one year. This is reported by several media, including “Picture” and “sports1“, agreed. Accordingly, the 33-year-old captain of the black and yellow arrived at the BVB office with his advisor Dirk lever at noon to put his signature.
According to reports, the offensive all-rounder is willing to give up a large part of his previous salary for the extension. With bonuses, according to the image, Reus will earn a maximum of 7 million euros gross in Dortmund in the future instead of the previous 12 million. The last details about it have been clarified in the past few days.
So far this season, Reus has made 26 competitive appearances for BVB, scoring eight goals and providing seven assists. In recent weeks, the captain has often been brought in as a joker by coach Edin Terzic. The fact that Reus had to come to terms with the role of no longer being clearly defined is said to have played an important role in the negotiations. In the history of Borussia, only six players have played more often than Reus (382 times), who leaves Lukasz Piszczek and Dieter Kurrat behind with his next appearance.
