John Ewbank, the musical right-hand man of Marco Borsato, reacts annoyed when he is called by a journalist from Nieuwe Revu. “Um, I don’t feel like a whole interview.”
The New Revu has a article written about Bas Smit’s festival fiasco. For that reason, the magazine also called one of its closest friends, Marco Borsato’s musical right-hand man John Ewbank. However, he hadn’t seen much to speak to the journalist.
‘Do not feel like!’
The intention was that in the article John could offer some counterweight to all the negative comments that Bas constantly receives. The article is full of that. “Bas is ad rem, he is just mega ad rem. Moreover, he is very fast and witty in a very nice way”, the composer begins.
Then John suddenly realizes that he doesn’t want to talk to the press at all. “Whether his humor helps him in his entrepreneurship? Um, I don’t feel like an entire interview, because I’m not doing a press for a while.”
‘Just send an e-mail’
John doesn’t do press? Does that have to do with his controversial bosom friend Marco? “Otherwise, email your question, because I actually have a total press stop. You surprise me with this.”
De Nieuwe Revu makes one last attempt to get something out of John’s relationship with Bas. “How would I describe our relationship, friends or business partners? We are friends rather than business partners.”
