Davina Michelle scored her biggest hit together with Marco Borsato, but she doesn’t feel like jumping in the breach for him. She thinks he is ‘a sack’ if he has indeed misbehaved.
The abuse scandal surrounding The Voice of Holland was also a ‘huge shock’ for Davina Michelle. Her musical buddy Marco Borsato plays a very prominent role in it. “Something definitely has to change, yes. Absolute. People should just keep their tongues and their words at home,” the singer said in the AD.
‘It’s not about me’
Davina’s biggest hit Hoe Het Danst is currently no longer played on the radio, because it is a duet with Marco. “Yeah, well… That’s just the way it is. I have to say that I am of zero importance in this story. If all of this is actually true, then this song isn’t captivating at all. That is the least important.”
She continues: “The most important thing is that the victims are then helped. And that my song is no longer on the radio? Well, exciting. How It Dances is my biggest hit when you look at the streaming numbers. But how important is that? It’s about what happened, and whether something happened.”
‘Marco is a bag’
Did Davina text Marco? “No, we have not had any contact. Not at all. I think Marco has enough on his mind now, and I wouldn’t know what to say either. He doesn’t need to hear from me that he’s a jerk, if this is really true? That would be something, say. That anyone he’s ever worked with would say something like that.”
“I didn’t know this either, when I released a song with him, that this would happen. That this would come out at all. It’s a huge nightmare. I don’t even know what to do with this. I’ll just wait.”
