‘Marco Borsato does not want to give another interview after the Linda drama’

The chance is quite small that we will see the discredited Marco Borsato give another major TV interview, thinks Haye van der Heijden. “He got booed after that show with Linda!”

One day you are the most successful singer in the Netherlands and the next day you practically no longer exist: things have gone quickly with Marco Borsato. Very quick. And we still have no idea whether that absence is justified: did he indeed touch an underage girl with his hands or is he innocent after all?

Intensely pathetic

The well-known screenwriter Haye van der Heijden, who was behind Divorce and Children No Objection, among others, suspects that Marco is innocent. He says in the New Rev: “Marco is probably just intensely pathetic, because that man probably did nothing at all. I think, yes.”

Has Marco just been a little too friendly? “I saw that video of the Borsato barbecue in 2015 at his home and that is going a bit far, we just have to remember: we look with the eyes of today and those are just different eyes than before.”

Dirty bastard

Haye doesn’t believe Marco is a pervert. “He was indeed all about that girl, that you think: yes, it’s a bit much. But if you’re a dirty bastard, you don’t do that on screen. Then you secretly do that somewhere afterwards.”

Many people wonder why Marco never gave a big interview if he really is innocent. “He already did that once before this erupted, with that famous ‘intimacy vacuum’ that he referred to with Linda de Mol. A genius sentence of course for ‘we don’t n**k anymore’.”

Disaster interview

That interview was really a disaster, according to Haye. “Then he was divorced from Leontine and he talked to Linda on the couch about the intimacy vacuum to justify his cheating. But his image was of course that of the ideal son-in-law, while he is probably just a g**l nose, so he makes it much nicer than it is.”

It is precisely that interview on Linda de Mol’s couch that is the reason why Marco will not give another major interview soon, Haye thinks. “Then he was ridiculed, so now he probably thinks: I will not do such an interview again.”
