Marco Antwerp gone, Dirk Schuster there!

Third division club 1. FC Kaiserslautern parted ways with head coach Marco Antwerpen and assistant coach Frank Döpper a week before the first relegation game against Dynamo Dresden.

The successor will be Dirk Schuster, who should be on the bench against the Saxons on May 20th and 24th, as the Palatinate announced.

Those responsible for the four-time German champions came to this decision after an intensive analysis of the current situation, it said. “Sport1” and “Rheinpfalz” had previously reported on the separation.

Schuster is said to be in charge of his first unit at FCK on May 11th. Assistant coach Sascha Franz will come to Betzenberg with the 54-year-old. Kaiserslautern did not provide any information about the contract terms of Schuster and Franz.

Rumors about Miroslav Klose’s employment have thus been settled for the time being.

Antwerp had led FCK to third place in the 3rd division, but recently suffered three defeats. In the relegation, the home game and then the game in Dresden are waiting.
