Marcelo Dauber: trusted business advice in Uruguay for Argentine entrepreneurs

Professional training is key to being able to develop skills and tools that allow adequate business management. In this sense, academic experience and professional updating are essential to be able to provide quality advice to clients. “For a public accountant it is essential to have a solid background in Mathematics, Tax Legislation, Accounting Technique and Business Law, which are undoubtedly tools that the university gave me and that I still use today. In addition, it is important to have a problem-solving capacity in the face of different problems that may arise in the business environment. Likewise, it is key to have an integrated vision of the different aspects of an organization, from financial to human resources”, clarifies Marcelo Dauber, Public Accountant from the University of the Republic, in Montevideo, Uruguay and founder of Estudio DFG. “I graduated at the age of 22 from the University of the Republic, which gave me very solid training in the areas mentioned above, which allowed me to be prepared for the job market. I have always had the concern of advising companies and years later, I completed a professional update program in innovation at Kellogg, the business school of North Western University, (Illinois, USA) where I was able to combine the quantitative with the human. and developing both short-term and long-term approaches, as well as experimenting and losing the fear of failure, which was very enriching”, he says.

– What services does Estudio DFG offer and what type of clients are they directed to?

At Estudio DFG we focus on providing tools for tax planning, formation of corporate structures, design of quantitative information systems, all of which are so necessary for the decision-making of our clients, basically entrepreneurs, regardless of their size. We place a lot of emphasis on the work teams having a conformation of quality and seniority. In the organization we are a group of 16 people, made up of accountants, students, lawyers and notaries. With the client we seek a framework of absolute openness and trust so that we can understand their real need, and be able to respond to what they are asking.

How important is closeness to clients and how has your experience been advising Argentine clients?

Being close to customers is essential to be able to understand their real needs and provide quality advice. Our studio is in Montevideo, and Argentines are involved in many of the ventures that are developed here, either as partners or shareholders. Being able to be close to them, and also through the different visits that we periodically make to Argentina, we can give adequate and prompt advice without having to travel to Uruguay. Our closeness to the Argentine client, as well as the regularity with which we attend, has allowed us to intervene in advising on different matters. The fact that Uruguay is seen as a valid option in terms of security and wealth growth for your investments greatly favors my professional activity.

– What are the projects of the study in the medium and long term?

At Estudio DFG our project, in the medium and long term, is to further strengthen the link with the Argentine client and maintain regularity and closeness with them, since we consider that their approach is very enriching. We are also focused on continuing to provide quality service and continue to expand our reach in the market.
