Fans of the Tour de France had a great day yesterday until they saw Marcel van Roosmalen sitting at the talk show table of De Avondetappe. “Can they never invite Marcel van Roosmalen to De Avondetappe again?”, is the request of AD media journalist and GTST extra Marcus den Blanken.

Thrilling Marcel

Marcus is quite upset about Marcel’s performance in the cycling talk show. “Thought to see a nice episode about the ultimate coup in the Tour. But heard clamor about ‘a plan’. Go do that in a podcast or something,” he yells on Twitter.

He continues: “In any case, why would you invite someone who has little to do with cycling on a spectacular tour day? Can still imagine in the first week, but now?”

no gold

Radio DJ Sander Hoogendoorn thinks Marcel has failed as a talk show guest. “It is also nice to see that not everything that Marcel van Roosmalen touches turns into gold.”

One Jan then: “Mwah, wrong person in the wrong place after such a heroic stage.”

Mathijs agrees with him. “That just at this stage someone is sitting at the table with a bottle of vinegar in his aim.”

agility

Hostess Dione de Graaff handled the sour Marcel well, according to media journalist Bas Hakker. “The flexibility of how Dione dealt with ‘the Van Roosmalen factor’ is of a high level.”

Ene Huizer: “A truly sublime historical tour stage. So much to talk about with good analysts, but De Avondetappe decides to put Marcel van Roosmalen at the table. How do you get it in your head, what a terrible chatter from someone who has nothing to do with cycling.”

Finally, Lieke: “Of course they couldn’t have known at De Avondetappe that it would be such a spectacular day when they selected guests, but can we perhaps just agree that in future only enthusiasts will be invited to the table? What a mockery that Marcel van Roosmalen.”
