The ratings of the SBS 6 talk show Marcel & Gijs are on the rise; they took their second highest score last night. Does Dries Roelvink also like to watch it? No, he is disgusted with the duo…
The talk show Marcel & Gijs does not even score half the number of viewers of Today Inside, but the summer replacement of VI is not a big flop. There are usually 400,000 people watching, but yesterday they had an outlier. The score came out at 439 thousand viewers, good for an 11 percent market share on SBS 6.
Magnet Raven
It is the second most watched broadcast to date, writes viewing figure connoisseur Joost Maiburg of RTL Boulevard. “Marcel and Gijs get the second highest score since their start. Only the first broadcast had better numbers. In the commercial target group aged 25 to 54, they take an excellent 10.9 percent.”
Tina Nijkamp, chief of the viewing figures experts, points to her channel to table guest Raven van Dorst. “Just like Victoria Koblenko, Özcan Akyol and Maarten van Rossem, she is a viewing magnet. Who knows, we might see Özcan or Maarten at the table soon.”
Continuation around Christmas?
Thanks to these scores, Tina expects Marcel & Gijs to be a keeper on SBS 6. “I dare say that this talk show will definitely get a sequel, based on the viewing figures. Think again around Christmas and again in the summer.”
However, the question is to what extent BNNVARA is in favor of this. After all, they make the weekly talk show Media Inside for that broadcaster and they will not want to share the gentlemen. Perhaps they can make the gentlemen a better offer, says media expert Victor Vlam. After all, the seven-hour slot of NPO 1 is ready for a new talk show.
Dries is disgusted
Who doesn’t think that’s a good idea anyway? Dries Roelvink. He is disgusted with the TV duo, he confesses in the latest Story. He thinks that SBS 6 has not made a good choice. “No. They both lack the right energy. This can be fun once, but it quickly becomes very boring,” he says in the show magazine.
And singer Sjoukje Smit fully agrees: “I watched once. That was the first and the last time!”
