The cold is still there between Marcel van Roosmalen and Angela de Jong. Despite their personal meeting, he continues to lash out at the AD opinion diva.
Marcel van Roosmalen has hated Angela de Jong for years. He looks down on her a bit, for example by continuously portraying her as a ‘writing housewife’. Nevertheless, the television columnist decided this summer to take part in his summer talk show on SBS 6 and suddenly he was sweet to her.
Cynical Angela
Apparently Marcel is only scathing about Angela when she’s not around him. Now he again supports Paul Groot’s criticism of the opinion diva. The comedian is completely pissed off at the columnist because she criticized Paul de Leeuw’s TV show Hotel Hollandia: “Angela de Jong is much too cynical!”
Marcel, himself a huge cynic, agrees. Presenter Gijs Groenteman provokes him into their talk show Van Roosmalen & Groenteman: “It is not at all on purpose if you make a bad program, Marcel. We just do that by accident.”
Marcel goes wild
Marcel can imagine Paul Groot’s feelings. “No of course not. We do that by accident. We also go our way here. It’s not fun at all if you get reprimanded. Let’s face it: what he did is also incredibly funny, so I understand that you experience it as an ugly joke.”
Angela is just unkind, he decides. “But why? But why? You’re just doing something fun for people, it’s free and you can zap to any other channel. And then you sit in front of the television with your poisonous pen and you think: I’m going to destroy that. Is this the mentality we want in this country?”
