Marc Van Ranst receives an unwanted visit from “a group of antivaxers” from the Netherlands: “Door slammed in their face” | Inland

Virologist Marc Van Ranst has been visited at home by a group of Dutch opponents of the corona policy. “They wanted to hand over the Anton Mussert Prize (Anton Mussert was a Dutch Nazi),” the virologist said on Twitter. “I slammed the door in their face and cursed. What abject idiots!”

Van Ranst writes that the Dutch “group of antivaxers” accompanied by a camera crew came to his house on a Sunday.

The Anton Mussert Prize is an initiative of a group of Dutch opponents of the corona policy. According to them, it is a satirical prize, intended for people who are guilty of “spreading lies in the media”, writes the Dutch public broadcaster NOS. The prize is named after Anton Mussert, a Dutch politician who collaborated with the Nazis during the Second World War.

The virologist says he “smashed the door in their face”, but apparently they were given the time to hand over their prize. However, it immediately ended up in the trash, according to a photo on Twitter. “Their Nazi prize was already given a very special place at home,” it reads.

Van Ranst is not only a well-known face in our country, but also in the Netherlands. When Van Ranst lived in hiding in a safehouse after he was threatened with death by the – now deceased – Belgian soldier Jürgen Conings, he already clashed on Twitter with the Dutch corona skeptic Willem Engel. “Willem, you are a madman”, it sounded then.

Watch here how Van Ranst reacted to the acquittal in the lawsuit that Engel brought against him:
