Only 24 missions in 2 years
Now it’s fixed: Marc Roca is leaving FC Bayern after two years and joining Leeds United. The defensive midfielder signed a contract with the Premier League club until 2026. Since his working paper with the Munich team was originally valid until 2025, the 25-year-old will have to pay a fee, which agrees with media reports from the “table football‘ amounts to a fixed 12 million euros. Up to 5 more million euros in bonuses can be added.
Roca came from Espanyol Barcelona in 2020 for 9 million euros, so the German record champions are generating a plus with the transfer – even though the left footer has only made 24 mostly short appearances in the past two years. Leeds coach Jesse Marsch, who had to leave RB Leipzig in December, is said to be keen to work with the midfielder. Including bonuses, Roca would be the tenth most expensive Bayern departure.

Munich’s sports director Hasan Salihamidzic explained: “Marc has a wonderful character, and he is also a very professional, very good football player. He always showed us that when he was deployed. Marc came to us now and wanted to get more playing time. We have therefore agreed to a transfer to Leeds United. We are convinced that Marc Leeds will bring a lot of joy. Its qualities are undisputed. We wish him every success on his further path.”
Most recently, the Spaniard, to whose position Munich officially announced the transfer of Ryan Gravenberch on Monday, was also associated with Eintracht Frankfurt. But now the “Whites” were awarded the contract.
