Marc Overmars seems to be continuing his career in Belgium. Various Dutch and Belgian media report that the former player and technical director of Ajax will determine the transfer policy at Antwerp.
Overmars, who left Ajax after he was accused of transgressive behaviour, is being presented today at the current number three of the Belgian competition, according to the newspaper. According to De Telegraaf, Antwerp regards the Overmars case as a private matter.
Antwerp is known in Belgium as an ambitious sub-topper. It was taken over by Paul Gheysens five years ago, as a second division team. With an estimated wealth of 765 million euros, he is one of the richest people in Belgium. Over the past period, Gheysens invested about 70 million euros in the club.
