Marc O’Polo takes another step towards the circular economy. In order to further promote circularity, the Stephanskirchen-based fashion retailer will be working with the Berlin agency Circular Fashion in the future.
Circular Fashion will advise Marc O’Polo on the further development of circularity and will check the brand’s newly introduced products for compliance with circularity across all collections, according to Stephanskirchen on Wednesday. In the current order of the Fall/Winter 2023 collection, Marc O’Polo is already offering products that have been validated by Circular Fashion and are marked with a “designed for circularity” label. However, the offer is to be further expanded in the coming years.
“With the goal of creating a common definition for the industry, we developed the Circular Design Criteria, which allow us to set goals and measure progress,” says Ina Budde, Managing Director of Circular Fashion. “Marc O’Polo uses these holistic design guidelines as a driver for creativity and sustainable innovation and is supported by us in the implementation of recycling requirements and circular materials.”
In December, Marc O’Polo expanded its online offering to include a rental service in order to optimize the life cycle of the products on offer. The fashion retailer also entered into a partnership with the Düsseldorf start-up Retraced last May. The aim of the partnership is to achieve more transparency in the supply chain and individual traceability for each individual product.
