Marc Marquez announces future deadline

Former MotoGP series world champion Marc Marquez wants to end speculation about his future this month.

“I will choose between India and Japan,” the Spanish Honda driver announced on Monday on the sidelines of the test drives in Misano/Italy.

The eight-time motorcycle world champion from Spain is tied to the Honda factory team until the end of the coming season, but the RC213V is not competitive. It is therefore entirely conceivable that the 30-year-old will leave early.

He had “three plans” and “very clear ideas,” said Marquez. Recently there was a rumor that he could switch to his younger brother Alex’s Ducati team in the new year. In India it runs from September 22nd to 24th, in Japan from September 31st to October 1st.

On Monday, Marquez tested a new version of his Honda – and wasn’t thrilled: “The main problems remain the same, so we have to keep working.” A farewell to the WM-19. (31 points) from the Japanese is becoming increasingly likely. Marquez achieved his last victory to date in Misano in October 2021.
