Marc-Marie Huijbregts thinks it is very sad for Edsilia Rombley that she is so bothered by the association with Glennis Grace. “I feel bad for her that she’s suddenly in that corner.”
Edsilia Rombley, like colleagues Berget Lewis and Candy Dulfer, fervently hoped that Glennis Grace’s sorry film would be enough to continue the Ladies of Soul concerts. However, that video was not at all sincere and when Edsilia started to defend her singing friend in Jinek, she too came under fire.

Edsilia then says: “I find it worrying. There is a kind of contentment, which is understandable. It’s not always distributed fairly and things seem more and better than they are these days. Social media has a positive side, but also a bad side. It feeds the discontent.”

Edsilia is not happy with that social media. “People are influenced by this and it seems that people no longer like to see someone else succeed, but prefer to be slain. I have a high opinion of ‘who does good, meets good’, so I have a hard time with that. One should take it out less on others because they are not happy themselves.”
It is obvious that Edsilia is talking about Glennis and the media frenzy here, says Marc-Marie Huijbregts in his podcast† “If it were about Glennis, I don’t think it’s right. Because ‘who does good, meets good’ is not exactly what is going on in Glennis’s life, of course. And ‘what you do not want done to you, do not do to another’.”
