Marc-Marie Huijbregts slaughtered mercilessly: ‘This is quite sick’

Marc-Marie Huijbregts is teased in a pretty vicious way in Rob Goossens’ column. He thinks it is ‘pretty sick’ that the comedian is still used on television.

In general, Rob Goossens is quite pleased with the renewed Holland’s Got Talent. According to the television connoisseur of RTL Boulevard, there is only one miss in the format, namely jury member Marc-Marie Huijbregts. The comedian is cashing in a lot with this television job for RTL 4, but according to Rob that is wrong.

Smet Marc-Marie

Rob thinks Marc-Marie is terrible in the talent show. “Actually, I only see one stain on HGT: the eternal abuse of Marc-Marie Huijbregts. The best man isn’t funny and that’s okay. Yet he is heartily laughed at,” he writes in his column for Veronica Superguide.

There’s only one reason people laugh at Marc-Marie, says Rob. “He has a Brabant accent and sounds like, apologies for the language, a herd of wildebeest has walked over his balls.”

‘pretty sick’

Marc-Marie’s voice is very characteristic and, according to Rob, laughable. “It is logical that TV makers eagerly use it. If they invited a comedian, they risk insulting people and running advertisers. Not with Marc-Marie. He says ‘mashed potatoes’ and everyone is already in tears.”

Then Rob hands out a final sneer at the comedian. “Gone are the days of laughing at people with dwarfism and women with beards. But in the meantime Marc-Marie still hobbles around the TV arena like a cheap circus horse night after night. Am I crazy, or is that pretty sick?”
