Marc-Marie Huijbregts laughs at Wendy van Dijk: ‘This is ill-considered’

Marc-Marie Huijbregts and Aaf Brandt Corstius have great fun in their podcast about the media riot that Wendy van Dijk got involved in. “You’re not sending her to the Polish border, are you?”

Tomorrow evening celebrities will try to raise as much money as possible for Ukraine in a TV show that is broadcast simultaneously on NPO 1, RTL 4 and SBS 6. The four most important presentation jobs are for Chantal Janzen, Rob Kemps, Eva Jinek and Jeroen Pauw. But there was also something for Wendy van Dijk.

Wendy not to Poland

Wendy would like to go to the Polish-Ukrainian border, they thought when organizing Giro 555. There was a lot of consternation about this: Wendy was not informed at all and Twitter exploded that a presenter of her caliber would suddenly have to take care of war victims. Her Polish trip was soon canceled.

At some point this week a running gag about what Wendy will do for Ukraine; even Eva Jinek didn’t know. Hilarious, Marc-Marie Huijbregts thinks it is. He says in his podcast: “What really made me laugh this week is Wendy van Dijk. It makes me laugh a lot.”

“What are we supposed to do with Wendy?”

Marc-Marie chuckles at the idea that Wendy is a bit like the fifth wheel on the wagon. “They just put her there, like: ‘Yes, Wendy van Dijk, what do we do with that? Yes, why not to the Polish border?!’ And then she is simply sent to the Polish border!”

Co-host Aaf Brandt Corstius: “So I heard it and I thought it was a joke, but it really is. You’re not going to send Wendy van Dijk to the Polish border in a war, are you? Yes sorry. I mean: nobody in itself, but I think it’s such a wonderful choice. Mainly because she didn’t know.”

Marc-Marie screeching: “And if you give a lot of money, then she has to go to Ukraine!”

Insane

Marc-Marie: “There was also a lot of commentary from correspondents who said: ‘We have very good correspondents there. You can just use that. Why should Wendy van Dijk come there?’”

Aaf: “Yeah, it’s totally insane too.”

Marc-Marie: “It is an organization that just doesn’t think properly.”

Aaf: “I can honestly say that I don’t think it’s such a good idea to send Wendy van Dijk to the border of Poland. I can just say that and it is also to the advantage that I say this, because I don’t think she wants to go there herself. She shouldn’t do that either.”

boost

Marc-Marie thinks the same about this. He still remembers how badly Wendy did the Dance Marathon. “That she’s standing next to a woman like that who is completely on her last toes and then she says: ‘Ah, go on, go on! Oh, you’re still moving so beautifully.’ While that woman lets everything run and moves around with shitty pants.”

Aaf: “You mean she can cheer people up, hahaha.”

Together in action for Ukraine can be seen tomorrow evening at 8.30 pm on NPO 1.
