Marc-Marie Huijbregts hits back at Guido den Aantrekker, the boss of the Story, who said something ‘unpleasant’ about the comedian. “I just flipped through the Story and there’s nothing in it.”
The attitude of Marc-Marie Huijbregts in the woke discussion causes annoyance to Guido den Aantrekker. The editor-in-chief of Story particularly criticizes the sneer that the comedian has handed out to Johan Derksen. According to Marc-Marie, the Today Inside star is a ‘white straight male’ who is ’emotionally handicapped’.
Passionate circus bird
Guido thinks Marc-Marie is a huge failure. “Why do we make an insignificant spring chicken so important? Who cares what Huijbregts thinks? He’s not the Netherlands – he’s a pitiful circus bird, fluttering wildly.” tweets the magazine maker inexorable.
This tweet from Guido has caused quite a stir. Not only can he count on more than five hundred likes, but also on almost a hundred retweets.
Guido den Optrekker
Marc-Marie has in his podcast a column every week in which he reads a tabloid and the Privé was not an option this time. “The Privé this week is all about Queen Elizabeth. It is the Queen of England and not our Queen. I think the focus on that is a bit exaggerated if I’m being honest.”
That’s why he thought of Guido’s Story. “Then I thought: you know what’s fun? Then I’m going to do the Story! Because the Story is by Guido den Optrekker and I noticed that Guido has climbed onto the woke agenda this week. On Twitter he had said something very bad about me again about that whole thing with Gert Verhulst and that woke and stuff.”
Nice swear word
What does Marc-Marie think of Guido calling him a circus bird? “I must honestly say that his swear word was super fun. He called me a furiously fluttering circus bird. And I really like a circus bird.”
He continues: “I imagine it’s one of those little birds that flutters in the top of the tent and when there’s a performance, it just passes the elephant. The elephant also knows the circus bird, so everyone is very friendly to him. The circus bird is a lot of fun.”
“There’s nothing in it!”
Marc-Marie continues: “Of course I have a lot of respect for Guido den Optrekker, because he does a very good job at the Story and Shownieuws. He has two different jobs that he does really, really well. So I thought: you know what, I’ll buy the Story this week.”
Still, Story didn’t make it to Marc-Marie’s podcast. “I was in the store looking through the Story and there was nothing in it! Yes, Elizabeth again of course, but other than that I don’t think Guido den Optrekker has been in the office very much this week. So I thought, you know what? Then I do the Weekend.”
