Marc-Marie Huijbregts finds Maarten van Rossem very forced

Marc-Marie Huijbregts thinks that Maarten van Rossem comes across as very forced as a jury member of De Slimste Mens. The comedian doesn’t find that style funny at all. “I find that so annoying.”

Not only Evert Santegoeds, but also Marc-Marie Huijbregts is annoyed with Maarten van Rossem as a jury member of De Slimste Mens. The elderly TV star often makes funny comments and then deliberately does not laugh about it herself, and according to Marc-Marie that is very forced. And so not funny.

With all due respect

Marc-Marie comes to this subject when he is in his podcast handles a complaint from one of its listeners. “Before we continue: someone recently said (put on zombie voice, ed.): ‘Yes, you laugh too much at your own jokes.’ Yes, sorry we are having fun, yes,” he says.

He continues: “I also find that so annoying that I think: oh, we just have to dry completely… I find it much more annoying when someone… For example, just like – and I really like that one, let me say that up front, with all due respect – Maarten van Rossem.”

Very forced

With all due respect? Oops, that doesn’t bode well. What’s wrong with Martin? “For example, he says something that he finds funny, but then he tries very hard not to laugh himself, because that is fun or something not to laugh himself. I always think that…”

He thinks that’s too forced. “Then I think: if it’s good – at least, that’s what I always like best – you’ll hear it yourself for the first time when you say something. It’s not a pre-joke that you’ve said a hundred times, so then something comes out of your mouth that you hear for the first time and I just have to laugh about it.”

Isa Hoes: “Yes, we just have to laugh about things very often, so sorry… And no sorry!”
