Marc-Marie gets slapped after taunting Bastiaan Ragas

Marc-Marie Huijbregts gets a big slap on the wrist because he has portrayed Bastiaan Ragas as a kind of semi-alcoholic. “This is just plain gossip, without adversarial.”

Bastiaan Ragas is currently making a rather wild impression as a candidate in the TV program Race Across The World on RTL 4. Marc-Marie Huijbregts has shamelessly speculated about this in a podcast. “I have the idea – well, of course you can never say that out loud – that he drinks a lot too. But I don’t know.”

Juice or no juice?

Bizarre, says Yvonne Coldeweijer. She points it out in her podcast The Juice Show notice that Marc-Marie emphasized at the start of his showbiz podcast that he does not want to make some kind of juice podcast. He said: “It’s more like a nice, happy, nice podcast. Anyway, I’ve had enough of all the sadness.”

His co-host Jan Uriot agreed: “Yes, look, I mean: it is so easy to say things, of course, but just come up with facts. There’s a lot of yelling going on in those channels and that’s something we just don’t want. We just want to keep it positive and I also think that you should not just offend people.”

Hypocritical

But in that cheerful, nice and nice podcast by Marc-Marie, someone is now portrayed as an alcoholic. “They’re acting hypocritical, aren’t they? I find this very typical. They have a juice podcast, but they pretend not to gossip, but actually do,” says Yvonne. “Then I think: what?!”

Yvonne thinks Marc-Marie goes quite far. “All those things that I say then, it is always: ‘There is no adversarial! And you just say things to destroy people!’ (…) But I have never called anyone an alcoholic without hearing about it or having a source or whatever.”

Feral

The reason for portraying Bastiaan as someone who ‘drinks a lot’, according to Yvonne, is wafer-thin. “He looked a bit haggard and had asked how expensive the beer was in that country. That makes him an alcoholic, because he was confused and that’s what he thought. Then I think: he can just say that and I can’t?”

She continues: “He’s a bit sanctimonious because he pretends to bring nice juice. But what if Bastiaan reads that at home? There isn’t even a source for it! It’s not, “I heard from a spy that he’s an alcoholic.” Then you have some kind of story, but no! Just because of how he looked?!”

Ordinary gossip

Co-host Mark Koster thinks Marc-Marie pretends to be better than he is. “He’s basically the Cornald Maas of gossip. He always gets away with it.”

Yvonne: “You shouldn’t say you don’t juice if you do. This is just plain gossip. This is not even with a source and he has not done an adversarial. All those people are accusing me of doing it themselves!”
