National soccer goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen is on the hunt for records at FC Barcelona.
Through his use in the Champions League game at FC Porto (1-0), the 31-year-old became the goalkeeper with the third most competitive games in the history of the traditional Spanish club.
With 387 games, Ter Stegen is now level with Antoni Ramallets, who was in goal for the Catalans from 1947 to 1961.
The German goalkeeper, who has been playing for Barcelona since 2014, could push the legendary Andoni Zubizarreta (410 appearances) from second place this season.
And even Victor Valdés’ 535-game record is within reach for Ter Stegen given his contract that runs until 2028.
