Many countries want ban on organizing tournaments in Russia

Russia and Belarus are no longer allowed to organize, be awarded, or candidacy for international sports tournaments. According to the US State Department, a statement to that effect has been signed by sports officials from dozens of countries, because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The statement also calls on sports organizations to limit relationships with sponsors from both countries as much as possible.

Since the war in Ukraine, most countries have already refrained from participating in events in Russia. Many scheduled matches or tournaments in the country have also been canceled or postponed.
