Manuela Kemp still doesn’t know what exactly is wrong with her at this point. She’s been going through a whole medical mill since her high-profile incident on the radio.
Manuela Kemp’s radio work came to an abrupt end two months ago, when she lost her words live on her broadcast and left the studio early. Yesterday it became clear that she will not return to the radio at all; her radio program with Henkjan Smits will cease to exist.
Rest and time
Initially there was speculation about possibly drunkenness during the radio broadcast, but according to Manuela it is about health problems. “Hello dear listeners, here’s Manuela. Unfortunately I have been absent from the radio for a while. You have noticed that too,” she said in an audio message on the radio yesterday.
She continued: “I was sick at first and I really needed some time to myself. In close consultation with Omroep MAX, I decided to continue that rest and time for myself and not to return to this program. I now also enjoy some time and that is sometimes just necessary after forty years of work.”

A medical examination is being carried out, says Patty Brard at the Shownieuws desk. “It sounds a bit like a burnout. I spoke to her this afternoon and she has to do some tests because they don’t really know what’s going on with her, other than that she’s been working for 40 years in a row.”
She continues: “Of course she has also outdone herself a bit now and then, she has committed partying looting on her body now and then, which I was present a large part of the time. She’s just overtired, broken and going through that medical mill now.”
‘In a month’
When will Manuela know more about her health situation? “We will know exactly what is wrong with her at the end of next month,” says Evert Sankrediets.
