Manuel Venderbos agrees with the criticism that his program Shownieuws has conducted a bad interview with the new Talpa bobo Frans Klein. “It can be critical.”
Shownieuws doesn’t even try to hide the fact that the editors-in-chief is actually just formed by the Talpa management. The show section was recently the first to interview Frans Klein, the controversial former NPO bobo who has now started working for John de Mol’s huge army of directors, and that was really an embarrassing affair.
Propaganda
There was really no critical note from the Shownieuws reporter on duty. Not a word about the fact that he was suspended from public broadcasting because of his involvement in the De Wereld Draait Door scandal. That is of course not journalism, but a cheap propaganda talk.
It’s laughable that such a Frans Klein also participates in this, thinks Angela de Jong. She says in the AD Media podcast: “So if you come from the NPO, whatever a journalistic organization is and which simply values journalistic values…”
Two cool questions
Then it’s a big relegation to Talpa, Angela thinks. “You are now going to work somewhere where the news section no longer even reports that you are being investigated and where if you are asked a few questions by a Shownieuws reporter – sorry Manuel, that you work there – and that there are just two cool questions come. Manuel Venderbos, the presenter of Shownieuws who also presents the AD Mediapodcast, admits that he agrees. “I think you can also ask that man critical questions.”
