Manuel Neuer and Thomas Müller are preparing for a comeback

Good news for FC Bayern: With Manuel Neuer and Thomas Müller, two top performers are about to return to the squad.

Both Müller and Neuer completed a training session on Säbener Straße on Monday. According to consistent media reports, Müller is already planning his comeback for the upcoming Bundesliga weekend. Whether he is ready for the game against Bayer Leverkusen will only be decided in the next few days.

The 32-year-old tested positive for the corona virus for the second time last weekend and tested himself free on Sunday. During the course of the day he completed his first training session.

National goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is also making progress on the way to his comeback. The 35-year-old, who underwent knee surgery at the beginning of February and did his first running sessions at the beginning of last week, got back into full individual training on Monday. According to “Bild”, the goalkeeper survived the 50-minute session without any problems.

Neuer against Leverkusen back in the Bayern goal?

It is not yet clear when Neuer will return to the box. “Bild” reports on a possible comeback against Bayer Leverkusen. “Sky” meanwhile writes that he will be back between the posts for the round of 16 second leg in the Champions League against RB Salzburg the following week at the latest.

With Neuer’s return, Sven Ulreich’s time as Bayern’s number one will inevitably come to an end. The 33-year-old represented the regular goalkeeper in the last three Bundesliga games and in the Champions League against RB Salzburg.

The representative only remained without a goal on the 24th matchday in the 1-0 win of Munich against Eintracht Frankfurt. In all other games, Ulreich conceded at least one goal.
