Borussia Dortmund must be looking for another new player for the defense. According to a media report, Manuel Akanji will leave the club in the summer.
It looks like Borussia Dortmund are set to make some more changes to their squad in the summer. As reported by “Bild”, defender Manuel Akanji (contract until 2023) wants to leave BVB. In the meantime, the Swiss is said to have rejected a second contract offer for an extension.
Süle there – who’s coming?
Akanji is believed to be looking to move to England, where Manchester United have signaled an interest. The transfer fee is therefore around 30 million euros. Should Dortmund drop out of a third offer, they will let Akanji go in the summer before he joins on a free transfer in 2023.
Nico Schlotterbeck from SC Freiburg is on the list as a possible replacement, in which BVB is said to have been interested for some time. A new player for the defense has already been chosen: Niklas Süle comes from FC Bayern.
