Around 2,000 extras are being sought for the planned second part of “Manta Manta”. Preference is given to people from the North Rhine-Westphalia area, because filming on the continuation of the Proleten-Klamauk is planned from June to August in Dortmund, Cologne, Bad Driburg, Mettmann and Dormagen.
You are looking for people who want to be in front of the camera for one to five days of shooting together with the stars of “Manta Manta 2”, including Til Schweiger, of course.
The notification from the casting agency states: “Men and women aged 6 to 80 from all over NRW are invited. Hundreds of spectators, press people and the racing team for an exciting car race have to be found. They are specifically looking for guests with a “chic beach bar, where there are pretty bikini girls and party guests in beach and club outfits”.
“Manta Manta 2”: Kart drivers and DJs wanted
According to the announcement, DJs and DJanes, kart drivers, hairdressers and people who want to have their hair cut in front of the camera are particularly in demand.
“Manta Manta” achieved cult status very quickly after it was released in cinemas in 1991, but above all helped the Opel vehicle of the same name to become famous. As Bertie from Ruhrpott-Schofel, Til Schweiger was in front of the camera for the first time in a major production, so that for the later star actor and director it is now also a nostalgic return to the origins of his career. Schweiger will now also direct the second part, and Tina Ruland (who was seen as hairdresser Uschi) is also part of the party again.
According to the casting agency, there is already initial information about the plot of “Manta Manta 2”: After many years, Uschi is addressing Bertie again because their son needs his father. But Bertie is pretty broke. “To make ends meet, the family must return to what used to tear them apart – racing,” the statement said.
