Mannheim teams are in the indoor hockey final

The men and women from Mannheimer HC have each made it into the final of the German indoor hockey championships in Düsseldorf.

In their semifinals, the MHC men surprisingly clearly prevailed 5:2 (1:0) against defending champions and record champions Rot-Weiss Köln. “I can’t say anything about it yet. We’ve rewarded ourselves for our season so far,” said 5-0 goalscorer Paul Zmyslony. The MHC women won the penalty shoot-out against the Cologne women 2:1 after a 2:2 (0:2) in regular time.

In the final on Sunday (12.00 noon), the Mannheim team will meet Düsseldorfer HC, just like they did on the pitch. The Rhinelanders had previously defeated the defending champion from the Alster club 7: 4 (4: 3) and thus made it into the indoor final for the fourth time in a row. “Now it’s just a matter of getting the thing. Winning in the hometown would be a dream,” said DHC captain Selin Oruz. The opponent in the final of the MHC men (3:00 p.m.) is Berliner HC, who won the last semi-final after a 5:5 (2:3) in regular time with a 3:2 penalty shootout against Harvestehuder THC
