With Mike Peikert, the Spanish clothing group Mango is hiring a new regional manager for the German retail sector in order to further consolidate its presence in its second most important market. Peikert will take up his position in June, reporting directly to International Retail Director Marlies Hersbach.
“Mike’s role will be to increase the performance of the German market and ensure all business objectives are met. He should also build a high-performing team with many employees with great potential and support the teams and businesses to ensure successful operations. At the same time, Mike will try to identify and exploit additional market potential,” Mango commented in a statement.
Peikert knows the fashion industry well and has worked for the Düsseldorf fashion retailer Peek & Cloppenburg for the past 15 years, where he began his career as department manager in 2008. For the last four years he was responsible for Germany as site manager.
“During these years, I had the opportunity to take on responsibility for commercial success, human resources management, visual merchandising and the strategic development of the market portfolio in various regions of Germany,” explains Peikert.
The new Regional Retail Manager will have to oversee 318 sales outlets in Germany, most of which are shop-in-shops at partner companies, but also 58 of his own stores.
