Manchester United supporters protested on Monday before the top-flight Premier League match against Liverpool.

United supporters are protesting against the club’s owner family, the Glazers. However, not everything went exactly as planned.

Bus driver Adam Bradshaw told For The Guardian, that the bus he was driving was attacked. Bradshaw was transporting a group of schoolchildren from South Africa who were in Manchester on a football trip.

The incident happened outside the Tollgate restaurant, where United supporters had gathered.

– They started throwing bottles and cans at us for no reason. Children ducked under the seats and in the aisles. It wasn’t good at all, Bradshaw said.

One theory put forward as the reason for the throwing is that United fans thought the bus was carrying Liverpool supporters.

During their soccer trip, the schoolchildren visit several clubs, but they don’t support Liverpool.

– Part of the program was to take them to yesterday’s match because they are all big United fans. They all had scarves and shirts and were excited about the match.

– I have a Manchester-based company with Manchester written in capital letters on the back of the bus. “It’s hard to believe they thought we were Liverpool supporters,” Bradshaw continued.

A video of the incident has gone viral on social media. Bradshaw himself also commented on the video.

– Many thanks to you idiots, we were bringing a group of kids to the match who were scared to death, he tweeted from his company’s Beeline VIP Coaches account.

It took Bradshaw a few minutes before he could drive the bus out of the area. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured.

– If the bottle had come through the glass, the poor children would have been covered in broken glass.

“When things started happening, they wanted to know why they were being targeted and I couldn’t give them a reason. I was in shock.

United won the match itself with a score of 2–1 Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford with hits.

Of course, the United supporters’ protests were also monitored by the police. PDO
