A week after his first bankruptcy as a team manager at Manchester United, Ralf Rangnick has reached the fourth round of the FA Cup with the English record champions. The Red Devils prevailed against Aston Villa 1-0 (1-0) on Monday evening.
After the 0-1 in the Premier League against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Rangnick switched his team to five positions. Among other things, the ailing Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho stayed outside.
Scott McTominay provided the early lead (8th). Shortly after the break, the alleged equalization by Danny Ings was revoked after video evidence because he had been preceded by a foul (51st). United had to tremble as the guests pressed for the equalizer – but without success.
