Just like last season, Manchester City have qualified for the semi-finals of the Champions League. The leader of the English league played a draw at Atlético Madrid on Wednesday (0-0). That was enough after last week’s victory in their own stadium (1-0). Dutch national team Nathan Aké came on as a substitute in the 73rd minute and witnessed a hectic and unfriendly final phase.
For a place in the final battle, Manchester City must deal with Real Madrid in late April and early May. Last season, Manchester City reached the final of the Champions League for the first time in club history. Chelsea proved too strong with 1-0. This time it could turn out to be a meeting with Liverpool in the final. Both clubs will decide in the coming weeks who will win the English title and this weekend they will meet in the semi-final of the FA Cup.
