Managing Director comes from Conde Nast

Not Just A Label, the international platform for young designers, has appointed Philippa Morgan to the role of Managing Director. She reports directly to CEO and founder Stefan Siege.

The platform, which has been active for fifteen years, currently represents over 50,000 designers in more than 150 countries and offers them the opportunity to present their collections in a B2B showroom and to sell them directly to customers on the integrated marketplace. There is also a partnership with the online retailer Zalando, which offers individual pieces.

Morgan was brought on board to deliver on the platform’s ambitious goals and actively leads the Not Just A Label (NJAL) team in sourcing new talent from top universities. In July, a number of guest curators will also be featured on the platform’s marketplace. In particular, these should represent talents from the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia.

“Not Just A Label has always been ahead of the curve, creating a democratic, radical space for creatives to thrive as self-employed,” Morgan said. “We are the community for the rebels of fashion, the pioneers and the pure designers who want to redefine what fashion means in 2023 and beyond”

Not Just A Label has secured a high profile publishing name in Morgan, who has held various positions at Condé Nast since 2008. Most recently, she held the title of Global Director of Content Planning and Editorial Director for GQ and Vogue Licensing.

Leading platform for luxury fashion until 2024

Morgan joins Not Just A Label at a time of growth. The platform’s shop saw sales grow more than 194 percent year-over-year, driven by markets featuring talent from places like Lagos, Mumbai and Manila, according to the release. But the goals of NJAL are far from being achieved, because if Founder Siegel has his way. Its platform, with its experience in supporting creatives, is well-positioned to become the leading provider of independent luxury fashion by 2024.

“While one-off is a key enabler in our marketplace, NJAL has an opportunity to grow our wholesale space, which we are currently working with Zalando on,” said Siegel.
