The police in The Hague confirms to De Telegraaf that an investigation is underway and that the man has been arrested. A spokesperson for D66 says that a report has now been made on behalf of the future Minister of Finance.
The man was arrested after the police recognized him from a live stream footage. He is said to be a well-known conspiracy theorist and would have knocked on Kaag’s doorbell with the fire club. He shouted numerous slogans about the World Economic Forum and Klaus Schwab, among others. He also shouted slogans such as ‘NSB, get rid of it’. He broadcast his action via a live stream on social media channels. An ally provided the live images.
There are photos on Twitter that seem to indicate the events. The man can then be seen walking on the street with a large torch in his hand. It would be the same person who had been removed by agents last month, just before Christmas, when he rang the doorbell with corona minister Hugo de Jonge because he ‘wanted to speak’ to him.
The man himself also distributed images of this at the time. Police wanted to take him in a van, but in the end the man left on his bicycle. Even then he shouted all kinds of incoherent cries related to conspiracy theories.
