The Royal Netherlands Marechaussee arrested a man this afternoon who threatened with a cocked crossbow on a platform at Schiphol Plaza. According to a spokesperson for the Marechaussee, the man was quickly arrested thanks to an NS employee who knocked the crossbow out of his hands.
The man walked with a cocked crossbow on platform 2 of the train station under Schiphol Plaza.
According to the Marechaussee, there was only a brief threat, thanks to the rapid action of the NS employee. At the time of the arrest it was very busy on the platforms.
The suspect was taken to the office of the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee at Schiphol Plaza. The Marechaussee is conducting further investigations. No one was injured.
