The driver of a van miraculously remained unharmed on Friday evening in a serious crash on the N269 between Tilburg and Hilvarenbeek, in which several trees were rammed. The car then rolled over and came to rest on its side against a tree. The engine block was twenty meters away on the roadside.
The accident happened around a quarter past seven. When emergency services arrived, the driver was nowhere to be found. The police started a search and even wanted to call in Burgernet to ask witnesses if they had seen what had happened.
A moment later the driver arrived as if nothing had happened. He didn’t even get a scratch. The man stated that he climbed out of the vehicle himself, after which he decided to walk home. Then he changed his mind and reported the accident to the police.
The N269 in the direction of Hilvarenbeek was closed to traffic for some time. The accident caused a major traffic jam. The police are investigating the cause of the accident.
